What is the difference between PCB fabrication and PCB assembly?

PCB fabrication is the process of manufacturing the bare board. The bare board is then used in the PCB assembly process. Customers can consign components and bare boards as long as the component overages follow our guidelines and the bare board meets our requirements.

What is PCB Assembly Rework?

One-pass lead-free assembly is challenging enough, but board repair is even more challenging. The time, cost, quality, and repeatability issues associated with PCB repair are now exacerbated by lead-free. Additional time and cost are required to retrain operators to perform lead-free assembly, rework, and inspection. In addition, lead-free materials such as welding rods, wires, and core solders are more costly than traditional eutectic soldering materials. Since the operating window for lead-free assembly and rework is much smaller and tighter regarding processing temperature (approximately 30 – 35º C), greater precision and accuracy are required to develop profiles and procedures for lead-free rework. This means more research is required to investigate and set up a proper board rework procedure.

If delivery in a temperature-controlled vehicle is impossible, the product should be packaged in an airtight, moisture-proof bag.

Storage environment: Finally, where you store your PCBs can affect their lifespan. Store your board in a moisture-proof bag in a warm, dry room with low humidity and a constant temperature. Always use ESD protection when handling assembled circuit boards.
